Polytechnics Non Teaching Staff Condemned Attack on the NLC President in Imo State

The Non-Teaching Staff Union of Polytechnics (NOTSUP), Nigeria, has condemned, in strong terms, the resort to hooliganism and the deployment of brute force as instruments of trade dispute resolution in Imo State.

NOTSUP National President, Comrade Shaba Nakorji in his statement said "we condemned the use of violence and brutal force on union leaders and peaceful protesters, such act is inhumane and undemocratic and we are in firm solidarity with NLC President Comrade Joe Ajaero and other workers who were victims of the attack at the labour protest in Owerri, Imo state on first November 2023".

Our union also condemned the failure of Police to provide adequate protection to the protesting workers and the labour union leaders. We demand the quick intervention of Nigeria President to final resolution of the issues in dispute between Imo state workers and the state government, and also the arrest and persecution of the hoodlums who have attacked the NLC President, leaders and the protesting workers.
